In Secret or in Public

The virtuous one
Will walk through the city in public
And in secret through the forest,
Will eat bread in public
And in secret relieve herself,
Will drink in public
And in secret make water,
Will give birth in public
And in secret lie with her spouse,
Will be joyful in public
And in secret sorrow,
Will continue in good repute among the people.

Waetkë' niyakökwe'tu'tê

An evil person
Is willing to marry him today
And divorce him tomorrow.

Të'ë nikökwe'tu'tê, waetkë' ëkí tkaiwayéi'?
What kind of person am I, evil or virtuous?
Ne' wai saiwahsehtö.
That's a personal question (for you).

Ne' wai akíwahsehtö.
That's a personal question (for me).
